I wish this place was closer to my house because I know I'll be getting cravings for those slices of deliciousness. I do know that whenever I am in the area I'll definitely be snagging a pie from Brewers I might even go out my way to do it. I had a Hawaiian pizza here and it was pretty darn good. The crust was fluffy and flavorful, nice sauce and rich melty cheese. Good Pizza is objective and mostly dependent on preference and I prefer the way they do pizza here as I'm not really a fan of thin crust. Nicely done Brewers, see you soon.

I've been eating and drinking at Brewer's Pizza for over three years now. I have yet to be let down by a trip to the establishment. Any place that can cook a consistently solid pizza pie is an exception to the rule. That being said, if you happen across such a place, you go back for more. I recommend their incredible individual deep dish pie dubbed the Florida Smacker, it's a square masterpiece. Locals have made their voices heard in that the Sea Faring Pig is a crowd favorite, but I walk right past the swine and head for the meatball Smacker. It's the best pizza for 50 miles, hands down. they also have a seafood bisque that is out of this world which comes in a toasted bread bowl which doesn't stand a chance against the awesome might of my appetite. Buffalo hummus is another favorite of mine, HOT BABY! On top of great eats, Brewer's Pizza is also home to the Pinglehead Brewing Company, the only brewery in Orange park to my knowledge and home to a couple of the best beers money can buy. I'm a true hop head, I go right for the IPA selection at any brewpub, and their selection does not disappoint. Reign of Hops was a small batch beer they released last year and I could swear it was the best beer I've ever had. And for a huge craft beer geek living in a city with over 7 breweries, that's saying a lot. The staff always make it a point to greet you with a smile and by name; you can't help but feel like family after a trip to Brewer's. And that's the way they like it. Do yourself a favor, stop in and get to know the friendliest staff with the greatest beer and pizza around.

BREWER'S PIZZA! Heck yes! I follow the Jax Ale Trail (ask for a passport at any participating brewery and get free swag! Can you believe it!? We live in such a great time and place!!) Welcome to Brewer's Pizza, a hole-in-the-strip-mall-wall that won't leave you unsatisfied. You'll be greeted by one of many servers who look like they emerged from a ZZ Top concert, and that's ok, because they know their beer. My boyfriend and I ordered the "Floridian" style square personal pizzas and they were deliciously crispy and tasty. We both got our own flights of beer and the server was helpful in guiding our selections. I was so impressed with Orange Park's brewery scene that night! Seriously, Brewer's Pizza did not let me down. They say eat local so why not drink local? ;)

This place is a beer aficionado's dream. They brew their own beer and you could see the beer made while you're drinking and eating. I love the sampler because you could sample 4 types of beers at once. Not only they brew their own beer but they also have all kinds of beers nationwide. As for the food, the salad, pizza and wings are great. The Florida Smacker is a deep dish type of pizza, it was was delicious and cheesy. They have more items on the menu which I will probably try out when I come back. As for the service, our waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly. The place is upbeat. A great place to hang out with friends and family.

Essentially the only game in town for Orange Park, this is nestled in a strip mall next door to some bizarre other stores. Interior is very typical family pizza diner, casual, informal. You order beer and food at the counter and then get a number or they call your name and it comes to the table. Beer quality is all over the place with some really good stuff and some not so great stuff. Still, a fun family pizza place that happens to brew beer in the back. They also get small distribution around the Jacksonville area. Our buffalo chicken pizza was pretty solid and the service was fast. Prices low.

2nd time wasn't as impressed with pizza as first. Ordered carryout, pizza wasn't done after quoted time. Was told it was being cut so I paid first and got my pizzas a couple mins later. The service was lukewarm. Ordered two Florida Smackers. Part of the slice from the Super Duper my daughter ate was undercooked. It wasn't an issue on the entire pizza bc the slice I had was fine. The 1/2 sausage / pepperoni pizza on the other hand was very crispy / borderline burnt...at least the sausages were. My daughter said it was fine and picked out the sausages. Seem to taste better the next day, without the sausage of course.

Good selection of brews on tap. I haven't been here in quite some time and it was good to see some new offerings from Pinglehead (resident brew company) as well as a return of some seasonal brews I missed from before. Good to see some local brews on the guest taps as well as some great regional and national brewers. The food is always good here. In fact, the place is really known to the locals for the pizza and sandwiches, and as such you'll see a lot of families and kids here. The price for a pint and growler refills are higher here than some other local brewpubs, but it's the only one west of 295.

This was our # 1 hang out after a baseball game. Love the people.. the beer and pizza. And most of all loved the hummus dip.. love it

Our first experience here was not glamorous or something to write home about, but there are two distinct things in reviewing: the pizza, and the service. First, the pizza. It is really good pizza. The use fine ingredients and have a great tasting sauce that comes together for a perfect pub pizza medley. We had ours to go after a debacle of a experience in house, but it was good pizza anyway. I really do want to come back and try the Floridian style (I think that's what it is, if not I'll be back to update this), which is unique to this restaurant. It looked intriguing and how could I as a self proclaimed Yelper not give it another chance? We did not get to sample the brews as we out pizza to go, but we've heard rave reviews of them. The service. The service in general, poor. I've already been contacted by the owner who gave me some insight into a prior staffing situation and what knot, apologized for the experience and promised to speak with the current staff to ensure customers are acknowledged and respected as their patrons. I applaud the owner for paying attention to the reviews, as this is what Yelp is all about! I'm glad to provide some feedback in hopes to make our local businesses shine like new pennies. For our situation that night, we waited a long time between sitting and getting our drinks, and then to order our pizza, even with the restaurant being basically empty besides a party of 10 or so in the back. This has nothing to do with the pizza though - that much was good. That being said, I do want to come back and try out the local brews and pizza once more. I'll re-update my update to reflect that visit at that time. ;)

Great pizzas and beer to die for. If you can't find a flavor you like here there is a serious problem. We will definitely be back to this gem.

Brewers was not what I was expecting. It is located in an outdoor strip mall. The inside is clean and has various beer signs and decorations on the wall. We seated ourselves and a waiter brought us menus. My wife and I decided to split a medium mushroom pizza, which I also added bacon to on my half, because man+bacon= happiness. The pizza was cooked perfectly. The cheese perfect and gooey, the sauce flavorful. The bacon was awesome and added the perfect flavor to each bite. My wife likes to try new beers, but I'm usually stubborn and stick to cheap domestic types. But not this time, I opted on a sampler plank, with 4 different beers. I chose the hasselhoffenwieser(forgive the spelling, I probably butchered the name), engine 15, angry orchard, and three philosophers. I have to say the best was the hassel, followed close by the orchard. The price for everything was not bad, with the two of us getting out for under $30, beer included. I wish we had a place like this near us, I would definitely go again given the chance.

Brewers has an amazing tap list of craft beer! The Pinglehead beer, brewed Onsite is some of the best in Jacksonville. The Servers are always great to us, but we are regulars. I love the thin crust small pizzas, my husband loves the Florida smacker. The wings aren't my favorite but the pretzels and beer cheese, delish!! The beer cheese soup and the gator burgoo are both so good. I love the food, the people, and especially the beer, definitely a local favorite for me. My only hold back from giving 5 stars is the food can some times be a little slow coming to the table, but just means it's fresh and hot!

Pizza and fleshly made beer..What more can you ask for? I was so excited that I got to visit this "brewery". I had tried Pinglehead beer before, but didn't realize Orange park was near Jacksonville. So to my surprise, I got to have some tasty pizza and lots of cool one off beers that I would not normally be able to try. I would definitely recommend the pretzels with cheese sauce to start and the Florida Smacker pizza is pretty damn good. I didn't love the Rueben sandwich..It was just OK. They also have a cool jukebox that you can play for free. Our server was actually the waitress. She did a pretty good job at keeping us happy. My one complain is the location of the beer menu. You have to stand in the middle of the restaurant to see what you want to order, while others are eating. I recommend having several TV's to display the rotating beers.

Great pizza, great service and plenty of beers on tap that change fairly often. I love getting the sampler flight of beers and the pizza is always good. I personally adore their calzones! This is a wonderful neighborhood gathering spot which I really enjoy going to. The atmosphere is laid back and if we have kids they are accommodating. I could ask for nothing more!

I don't get over to this side of town much but when I do in try to find a hidden gem to grab some food at and this is a perfect example. Walked in and you have your typical bar type atmosphere with a seat your self style of seating.. it's actually a lot bigger then it looks which is good. Grabbed a seat and was greater fast with some menu's and was asked our drink order. This place specialized in micro brew no demostic beers which is kind of lame but not a huge beer drinker so didn't bother me to much. Menu is mainly pizza and calzones with some specialteazes thrown in there. Wife ordered there Florida smacker which is there small deep dish pizza and I got the calzone and an order of cheese bread. App came out fast with a good helping of sauce then perfect timing bout 10 mins later the food showed up.. everything was hot and fresh and looked amazing. After letting them cool for a min we dug in. Very very good flavors with every bit. There dough they used was very good and a slight seasoning of cheese on it.. the portions were big and filling which just means you get lunch the next day or a light night snack. Service was a little confusing as we had like 4 different servers but other then that everything was good and went we'll would definitely go back when on that side of town..

Over rated. Had the beer cheese dip with pretzels. Was nothing spectacular just an average place. The beer was good. But the food was basic. Good place to get a grab a drink with peeps.

One of my most favorite places in the Jacksonville/Orange Park area! I love craft beer and that is what originally brought me into this place, which they have a great selection, especially for the place being on the smaller side. I've always found the staff as friendly and helpful, and I love the casual atmosphere. I also love their brewed beers! Of course the others they carry are great, but the ones they brew themselves are fantastic. Their Pinglehead Red has actually become my favorite beer, just wish I could buy it in stores when I go out of town, but for now, I will keep getting my growlers filled. What really surprised me when I first came here was the pizza! Their pizza has got to be in the top 3 I've ever had, if not THE best pizza I've ever had, and best in this area. I can't find pizza I like more. You pair their great pizza with great beer, and the place definetely deserves 5 stars!

Ok, I tried Brewer's after years of seeing it and just never going in. I think what I had was called a Swamp Chicken FL Smacker to go. It was around 12 dollars and I did end up having leftovers from it. I honestly though did not care for the smacker. It maybe had too much grease for me. It is possible that this was a fluke smacker and the day in day out ones are not as greasy. I did like the service though (even though we were to-go'ers they were nice). I would be totally willing to try them again, just maybe something else from the menu.

Great brews- the best in the area in fact. Pizza is by far the best in the orange park area.

This place is awesome!!! If you love craft beer then you will love this place! If you love pizza then you will fall in love with this place! If you love growler's to go then you may end up driving from the Northside of Jacksonville all the way to Orange Park!! I certainly did! You know you've found a great restaurant when they have Bud Light, Miller and Coors neon signs behind an even bigger red circle with a slash going through it! You will find several different beers from several different local breweries - there were over 20 taps when I visited. Please see my photos for details. Brewer's has a good size menu and many pizza choices. I chose the Hawaiian pizza and added jalapenos. My wife chose the Bacon Chicken Ranch, minus green peppers. All of their pizzas are available in the "Florida Smacker" format, which is highly recommended. It's a personal size square pizza that is cut into 4 pieces. I couldn't eat all of it and ended up taking half of it for lunch the next day. It heated up in the microwave better than any other pizza that I've had. My wife, who thinks (read thought) that cold pizza for breakfast is nasty, completely changed her mind when she ate hers the next day - cold, for breakfast. I believe she has been converted... We will be taking friends there in the near future, but note that any parties of 10 or more require a 24 hour advance reservation. I think that is a plus, what restaurant does that anymore these days?

Tried it twice, had the cheeseburger pizza... Not that amazing honestly. I'm sure they sell beer better than their food

Love the beer here. my main problem is that the beer is sooooo good, and the food is sooo good that I really overindulge and get so full. The Gator Burgoo (basically gator meat stew) is amazing. This in a bread bowl + one of their dark stouts = excellent comfort food. The entire menu is great casual "beer" food with an above average beer selection.

After hanging out at Video Game Rescue for a bit we wanted to get some food, but had to find a place that was open a bit on the later side since it was about 8pm. Found this place via Yelp and decided to check it out due to the high ratings, plus pizza and beer are two of my favorite things~ It wasn't really packed that night, but there was a lot of people there. It was seat yourself and they had plenty of beers on tap to choose from. Not sure if our waitress had too much going on or we were supposed to go to the bar to order our food/drinks, but it took a good while before she came to our table with a menu and got our drink order....not sure if this is how it always is since this was our first time here - hence the 3 stars. Had their Swamp Chicken Florida Smacker - which is like if a deep dish pizza and garlic bread had a baby. It was topped with gator, their own sauce, tomatoes, and cheese - it was really good, but I didn't realize how spicy it would be. Had to eat one of my husband's pizza slices to cool my mouth down. They have their own brewery inside as well, Pinglehead.I had their Tribal Rite brew and it was really good! We'll probably be back, but I'll try to stay away from the spicy stuff.

Brewer's has been on my list forever, especially after finding out a while back it is the home for Pinglehead brewery. We trekked it on over to Blanding and certainly glad we made the trip. Nice and extensive beer offerings that scroll from a flat screen inside, but it was a little hard for us to see, but very cool you can just scan the QR code and it will take you to the list... We were dying to try the Pinglehead beers, so I started with a Dream Catcher Imperial IPA and the man tried the Jones Imperial Red rye. Definitely enjoyed both, but next up was the 9 Voices IPA.... so citrus-y and IPA-y, that was my favorite of the night. Our server, although not overly chatty or saccharin sweet, made great brew suggestions, so fine by us! Started off with some wings....hot and BBQ and when they say "lightly" breaded, that ain't no joke. They seemed almost naked, but I'm not a huge fan of all that breading, so I was pleased. The hot wasn't make your eyes water hot and they were cooked well... nothing really to write home but they did hit the spot. There wasn't a doubt in my mind after reading the praises from my fellow yelpers, we were going to order the Florida Smacker. Our server told us it was plenty for the two of us to share...but she didn't really know who she was dealing with!!! I'll admit, in my mind I has envisioned it a lot larger...but besides that, the 8 inch Florida Cracker Supreme was everything it was made out to be. Served all square-like on a regular plastic plate, the edges were cheese-covered, perfectly crispy, crunchy and delectable, but those four slices were gone in no time flat. We immediately ordered another of the pepperoni variety to take home. Next trip, oh cause we will be back, we will absolutely check out one of the specialty pizzas, another smacker (cause we likes to eat!) and probably a Biggn calzone too! Don't judge!

Brewer's Pizza offers decent pizza and a wide variety of craft beers. The atmosphere was interesting and the people who work there obviously know their stuff about beer and are nice to talk to. I lost count of how many beers that Brewer's has on tap. I had a medium pizza with mushrooms and it was pretty good. Its a fairly thin crust with a nice crunch to it. It's the kind of pizza that if you let it sit for a while, it can become soggy. Prices were decent and we even contemplated purchasing a growler of the beer we liked best. In the end, we decided not to because we probably won't be back to Florida any time in the near future to take advantage of the discounted refills and justify the price of the growler upfront.

I always love coming here. Whether it be to sit at the bar and chat up the bartenders who are always nice and talkative or to bring a group. Service is quick, food is amazing and the beer selection is on point. If you want a relaxing space to hang, come here! The staff is amazing

Stopped in again Thursday night (1-15-15). Crowded but not swamped. Got a table right away. Food here is WELL ABOVE normal bar fair. Pizza was good and timely (we pre-ordered it about 15 mins before arriving). Beer, Engine 15, was excellent. Service, which at times can be inconsistent, was spot on. We're not "regulars" here but it is approaching that status.

My girlfriend and I have been wanting to try this place since we'd seen it on Yelp and it was reccommended by a good friend of mine. We were out shopping and had some time and our stomachs were talking so we decided it was the perfect oppurtinity! Now when i generally try an eating establishment, i like to enjoy the ENTIRE experience. Service, food, ambiance, etc... So please know this as to why i only gave it a 3. When we walked in we were immediately recognized by the girl behind the bar. She said we could seat ourselves. It wasnt that crowded, maybe 15 people, so i thought "this oughtta be good". Well we sat where we could see the big tv and watch a little of theJags game. Then we waited....and waited.....after a few inconspicuous looks and trips to the bar for my own menu and a trip to the car for a sweater for the lady...hoping this would make her remember we just came in. Well it didnt work. I had to go back and ask her if we order at the bar or she comes to us.. Well she apologized and came over to get our order. Ok... We ordered a couple of waters. I wanted to try the Pinglehead and the pizza. I gotta sampler of their beers and we decided on a half Hawaiin and half Buffalo chicken pizza. My dear also got a anit-pasta salad. Then we waited again.... And waited.... The salad finally came!! My babe was gonna survive!! Only kidding, but we were starved. The beer was ... Eehhhh.. It was ok. The Punk was just downright bad.. The rest were tolerable. Next time ill try some of the other local brewery samples. The salad, shebaaid it was very good. The pizza... Was delicious! The crust was awesome! Im not normally a thick or pan style crust fan but this was great. Perfectly cook, light, crispy in all thw right spots. I want to go back and try the other flavors , especially the Florida Smacker.. Im not down on this joint. I mean, maybe it was an off day for service. The food ..5stars, the Pinglehead..3stars...the service..1star (that day). Ill re-review next time. So that means ill most definately go back.

This place was recommended to us by a friend, and we have been putting it off. We decide to go shopping for an upcoming hiking trip, and thought being we were in the area we should give it a try. Here goes.... We walk in, the girl behind the counter says... seat yourself and we'll be right over! Okay! We scope out the area and decide on a booth that we can actually see the tv, gotta watch the game, right!?! and we wait... and wait... and wait... I'm cold and my honey goes to the car to grab my sweater and we are thinking maybe they forgot we were there so if they see him, surely they will come to our table. He returns and we wait... and wait! Finally, he gets up and goes to the counter to grab some menu's. We weren't really sure if we were suppose to order at the counter or what. I think this may have triggered something because Paris suddenly appeared at our table! yay! We order a flight, couple of waters and salad for me, as we were had questions for Paris regarding their pizza. The waters come out... Paris takes our order. Then we wait some more. The flight comes out and I am starving so I'm thinking the salad will follow shortly. Nope! Not the case! It's a salad!!!! Nothing too difficult to throw together. FINALLY, it arrives. The salad was deliciouso! The beers... eh, not so much for me! But he managed to finish them off. Pizza time! We went with half pineapple and half buffalo chicken, hot. The pineapple was not that great, but the buffalo was oh so yummy! The crust was so fluffy and light and wonderful! I'd love to try some of their other pizza choices. Even after the long wait, I believe we will come again. Everyone has an off day. And with all of the great reviews, we can't judge them based off of this one experience because well, it wasn't THAT bad.

This place is a real hidden gem. Hidden in a strip mall are some of the best craft beers, great offerings of pizza, soup, sandwiches. The service is nice and relaxed. I find myself drawn here after having no intention of goi g out for a meal. It is that kind of place.

I come to Jacksonville for Brewers pizza! We have tried a half dozen of their pizzas and they have all been outstanding. The Florida Smacker crust makes it possible to put anything on it and itll come out tasty. Classic pizzas as well as some FL style pizzas with Gator on it...all delicious! The beers and awsome as well, making this place a must visit!

OUR NEW FAVORITE PIZZA PLACE! The dough is amazing and the on-site craft beer is delicious (the Mind Drive Porter was UNBELIEVABLE). Great prices, too. Best local flavor I've found in Jax...And I've been here 11 years!

So a brewery that sells pizza, or a pizza shop that makes beer, you decide. Either way their pizza andbe made brew are freakin delicious. Get you some.

I feel a little bad because everyone else seemed to love this place. Walked in and noticed the surroundings at first. Lighting is same lighting as WalMart and it's all together an awkward set up, flooring and chairs just looks like a cheap set up. Service wasn't that great. When I asked her what exactly was the Florida Smacker she basically pointed back to the menu and read me what it said. Thank you I read it before I asked you to explain it to me. Not really understanding what I was ordering everyone on Yelp seemed to say to order it. It was good but I wasn't blown away. My biggest complaint was I also ordered a salad. It was just iceberg lettuce and dressing was in a packaged container. Maybe that isn't a real big deal but to me I didn't like it at all. I don't think this restaurant should be considered top 50 restaurant in Jacksonville but since it is in Jacksonville Magazine as that I will go back and try it again.

Combine great food, great beer brewed in house and a well balanced and carefully picked selection of guest taps and you've got Brewer's Pizza. My favorite spot to stop and have a drink or an entire meal. A friendly staff and a free jukebox only add to the great experience there. This is the first great place I found after moving to Jacksonville and I consistently make it back at least once a week.

  • Sam R.

This was our second time at Brewer's and we're definitely fans. They've started brewing their own beers - my wife had Ambitious Monk and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had a Mystic Pale Ale and give it two thumbs up. They're always rotating their impressive selection of craft draft beers - and they're really good about updating what they have on tap on twitter. As for the food, we (my wife and one of my sons) shared a greek salad and two "Florida Smackers" - which is the moniker for their delicious pizza. First off with the greek salad : plenty of Romaine, plenty of olives (two kinds I think - Black and Kalamata), could have used a little more feta, a little less red onion (I love red onion - but it is strong) and maybe slow down on the green peppers (ditch the green peppers altogether and throw in some pepperoncini ?). All in all it's a fine starter - plenty of dressing and everything seemed obviously fresh. The pizzas get some good crusting due to the way they prepare and bake them, and it's obvious that they're putting in the time, effort and care with the dough preparation. We had pepperoni and mushrooms on one smacker and the other was a specialty meatball. Both were great. The FRESH (vs. canned - these obviously aren't canned) mushrooms taste like they're lightly sauteed in some serious butter and garlic prior to installation. This is a good thing. There was plenty of tasty pepperoni as well. The meatball specialty pizza is awesome. My son took one bite and proclaimed "happy birthday to me!!!". He was so caught up in the deliciousness he unknowingly devoured ricotta cheese (congrats, Brewer's!). I believe it has mozza and ricotta, as well as some obviously homemade, totally tasty meatballs. Again - the way these are cooked the meatballs get a little browned on the top which adds a great texture. It's a comfortable and relaxing place to hang out, and the great food and beer has earned this place a slot on our short list. We rarely had a reason to go over to Orange Park ... until Brewer's Pizza gave us one!!!

Good Pizza and decent beer selection. Service was below average so if that is something that will ruin your meal this might night be the best place for you. Definitely worth a try though.

Alright pizza not bad. Service kind of slow. Beers are good, ask for the flight. The wings are good. Juke box and tv's.good place to watch a game and drink beer.

  • Ed S.

I don't know what's up with the scathing reviews. The pizza is excellent, particularly the meatball Florida Smacker. The wings are baked in the pizza oven so they're crisp and delicious but not greasy. But the real star of the show is the beer. They have a great selection of craft beer, plus they recently started serving their own. The Belgian tripel is as good as any I've ever tasted. Service can be slow but nothing major to gripe about. Give it a try.

Good pizza and lots of beer. You can sample any beer you want at the bar. Some are made in house. In a random strip mall like almost every place in FL. Staff was friendly. Good for a chill night out.

I'd rather stick needles into my eyeballs than patronize this establishment ever again. How anyone could take a great concept such as locally brewed beers and pizza and so royally screw it up is beyond me. The service is atrocious. The waitress they had either has no sense at all or really wants this business to fail. She came by to the table with a standoffish attitude. When we asked her about the beer selections, she rolled her eyes and said she's only worked there for three weeks... and she STILL hasn't learned her craft? She brought out the beers, took our orders, and then the pizza did not come out until 50 minutes later. Almost an HOUR! Seriously! They weren't even that busy. By then, the beer was gone. But did the waitress even stop by our table long enough for us to order more beer when she was dropping the pizza at our table? Of course not! Doing so would have been considered adequate service; good service would have been coming to the table at least ONCE during that 50 minute wait period to see if we needed refills, etc. She hasn't done any of that. Pizza wasn't bad, but after the service... wait, what service? I mean, after the lack of any service, it was hard to enjoy it. Seriously, both my boyfriend and I agreed that this was the single worst experience in a restaurant ever. No exaggerations. Which is just pitful, because we both want to see local businesses succeed and thrive. However, when customer service is the core of your business, and there was absolutely no service whatsoever, I don't see this place staying around for a long period of time.

Go in and order a "florida smacker". The salads are big and have excellent beer and craft beer choices as well as their own craft beer.

Me and my son go here just for the seafood bisque in the bread bowl. So freaking good. We split a large Greek salad and then each have the bisque. It is a brewery, so it does smell like it....but that does not detract from the great food. The little pizza are also great.

Great pizza. I had the Hawaiian with peppers. Generous portions. Very tasty. A lot of choices for beers. Had a local IPA and it was delicious. Friendly staff, good food, music, beer in no specific order. Found my new pizza place.

I want to start off by saying my choices were here and another place. I am so glad I decided on Brewers pizza, I can't even remember what other choice was and honestly it's irrelevant now. :) My wife and I walked in and was immediately treated by several employees. I was taking back because at some restaurants it's hard to even get a hello before getting a drink, let alone when you walk through the front door. Our waitress brought us waters while we watched the beer selections cycle on the tv on the wall. You can also check out the selections on the chalk board up at the front counter. Pinglehead brewing is the in house micro they serve and it is excellent. I decided on a flight of the Pinglehead brews: hash tag, nine voices, Pingle Red and mind drive. I walked in and knew I wasn't in the mood for anything dark, such as a stout or porter but the waitress suggested the mind drive. This is why I listen to the staff's suggestion. It easily became my favorite. My wife and I decided on a medium pizza with bacon and sausage. We were sad we didn't order the large because at first 8 slices was to much but when we tasted it we could definitely go for another slice. Just the right amount of sauce, really cheesy and great crust. We have found our pizza place in Jax. They also fill growlers and offer samples of their brew before you try.

Let me start with. I have been going to Brewer's Pizza since before they have been making craft beer. This place is awesome. I have eaten their Calzone almost every time with their homemade dough and the size of it to boot. I almost wish that I still drank for I just know that the beer is really good too. Just to add one more compliment for them is that we drive from the airport just to eat at Brewers Pizza. We will see you soon and they can take that to the bank.

I've been to Brewers over 20x since moving to the Orange Park area in January. The pizza is amazing, the service for the most part is good, and the beer selection is top notch. Cons: -Music randomly comes on and off. A song will play, and about 5 minutes after a silent break another song comes on.. a little weird. -I had a bad server once who just put me in a weird mood every time I go in there... I once asked if they had any pumpkin beer (in April) and she replied by asking me "Is i October?" .. thought that was pretty rude. -The beer menu is on a powerpoint or something on the TV, can be a pain for a first timer in the place. Pros: -Pizza is 5/5 every time! The Florida Smacker is a must try! Any topping will be a winner! -You can sample the beer before agreeing to a full size glass. -The garlic bread is amazing every time (the small order is enough for any size party!_ I highly recommend this place for anyone in the area looking for some craft beer and good pizza!

If you love beer and want to get some tasty, affordable food as well, this is a great place to start. For starters, the beer selection is excellent. Check their website before going as the list is updated regularly and they are always changing the beers. Also, if you are new to craft beer, they are very helpful and offer samples and flights. Secondly, the pizza and sandwiches are delicious. Very affordable and great after a few strong beers. Lastly, the service was impeccable! Everyone greeted us when we entered. Greg was very helpful and quite knowledgeable. Next time I'm in the area, I'm definitely going back.

I LOVE pizza, and I'm always down to try a contender for best pizza in town. I made a special trip to Orange Park after reading so many stellar reviews of Brewer's deep dish "Florida Smacker" pie -- a mere 8 inches, but at least 2 inches deep, this buttery, crispy concoction was undoubtedly worth the 20 minute drive from Riverside. The atmosphere of Brewer's leaves a little to be desired, with harsh lighting and so-so service, hence the four-star rating. For food alone, I'd say it's 5 stars. They also have TONS of local beers on tap, which you can view on handy dandy electronic tablets they bring to your table or scrolling on the flat-screen TVs overhead. Use your smartphone to scan the QR code on the menu before you leave and access their updated beer list anytime/anywhere. After perusing an interesting list of specialty pies, we narrowed it down to three choices -- The Gyro Pizza, The Left Coast Spinach Artichoke Pizza, and The Swamp Chicken. They all looked promising but the swampy one won out with mozzarella cheese, swamp sauce, gator tail, chicken, tomatoes, and Cajun seasoned crust. We started with a house salad and threw in some dessert Cinnabread for good measure. (We opted to not get the version topped with Snicker's bars!) This pizza was no joke! Deep, crispy and oozing with swamp sauce and cheese. It was truly unlike any pie I've ever had, and I've had lots of pies!!! (I was a pizza server through high school, college, and beyond.) The Cajun seasoning and juicy chicken and tomatoes were mouthwatering on top of the crispety, crunchy deep dish crust. One bite made me go a little cross-eyed with glee! The salad was fresh, but nothing fancy, and the dressing was served in individual plastic pouches that I wouldn't describe as "nice." The Cinnabread was freaking amazing though! So hot and melty with cinnamon baked in to every bite. I'm a sucker for sweets and these definitely hit the spot. Despite being "so full" I still managed to mow down 4 or 5 pieces, moaning the whole time of course. I loved Brewer's Pizza, and I'd highly recommend it to any 'za enthusiast in town. It's even worth a special trip to the OP. Definitely try the Florida Smacker on your first time here!

Whoa. Solid 4.5 stars. Talk about a great experience! We'd heard Brewer's was good but are never in Orange Park so made it a point Saturday night to stop in for dinner. We each had one of Brewer's own beers (me the black IPA, him the red), which were delicious. They'll let you sample any of them for free up at the bar. Our waitress and the others we interacted with were so friendly and helpful. We ordered the Florida Cracker pizza, recommended to us by friends, and LOVED it. Half mushroom for me, half pepperoni for him and it was perfection. It's a deep dish square pizza but the cheese extends to the sides, so it's not all crust. It was cooked perfectly. We asked for a side of ranch and marinara (each .55 but worth it) to dip. Yum! We also ordered a small regular pizza (same half/half toppings) and it was great. 100x better than Al's Pizza, Renna's, Pizza Palace or any of those combined. This is the real deal: good, fresh ingredients, flavor, and freshly made. The atmosphere was casual and quiet, very clean, and it's tucked away in a strip mall off of Blanding near Wells Road. It's worth checking out, we'll definitely be back soon!

We went to Brewer's Pizza on a spur of the moment "lets get lunch". A family member had told us about the quality of food and beer, so we wanted to give it a shot. They have many craft beers to choose from and an assortment of pizzas and sandwiches. My husband loves craft beers and plans to go down the list on our future visits. He had an Aardwolf, which he says he could have had another 5, and a Road Warrior IPA, which he compared as a cross of Guiness and Killian's. We ordered a medium bacon cheeseburger pizza. It was delicious. The service was great. Our waitress was all over the place and on top of things. (She got brownie points for being a Detroit Lions fan!) The price was really good compared to other pizza places. We will drive the 25 - 30 minutes up Blanding Blvd. to eat here again.

Living on the south side we never knew when we would ever try this place. Had a babysitter it's Tuesday 2pm perfect for us who enjoy trying new spots without the craziness of a busy spot. Walked in and pretty empty. Two guys at the bar chatting. Got greeted immediately and for to choose where to sit. Place is clean. No odd smells. Walls have beer posters and a flat screen with rolling menu of the beer offered. Which is nice and has descriptions of each beer to. We got served right away. Hubby ordered an IPA beer. We ordered the Florida Smasher meat lovers. It's reminds me of those square pizzas. Four pieces perfect for me and hubby. The dough thick and fluffy. Crust was crunchy just like I like. Tons of meat and the sausage bit also added a crunch. Sauce perfect not overbearing. We tore it up. Corey our server offered samples to try before a pint was ordered. He let me smell the chocolate beer and the chocolate apple cider beer. Yum! Wonderful service clean clean bathroom. Will def be back again.

Tried this place for the first time last night after many good recommendations from friends and it was amazing. I had the almost everything pizza with their Pinglehead summer blonde beer. Pizza was delicious and the beer was tasty. I highly recommend this place and will definitely coming back really soon! :)

Not really a pub atmosphere. This is truly a pizza place that happens to brew great beer (although they have split off the brewing aspect to comply with Fl laws) The pizzas were greatly also, went with 6 people and about 5 different pizzas were ordered and I did not here any complaints, they do have some different things, I had a Reuben pizza, it was great, with the added bonus that the Pinglehead Beer is great.

I have been in here twice (not because its bad or anything, just cause i don't live near it anymore) but we stopped in just to see what this place was and its pretty neat. Me being me i saw that they had a juke box, but then i relized not only is there a juke box but it's free! Full of awesome 70's 80's and 90's tunes. And then we had the Pretzels with the beer cheese sauce and it had to be the best thing ever. Expecially after coming from across the street at bw3's and had their awful try at pretzels this place is the best. However, i have yet to try any other food the other reviews said the pizza is fantastic so i don't why i won't try that the next time im in the neighborhood. Would however like to say it needs more tv's for games or sports the 2 over the bar doesn't seem enough in my opinion, BUT, still a great hangout spot.

Never a disappointment coming here! Pizza dough is perfect it's fluffy and crunchy at the same time.. The cheese is amazing its stringy like you would want it to be.. Once you try this place it would be almost impossible not to come back... Service is fast and the way the food taste you would think they took hours to prep! It's clean inside and the food is yummy! Been here 4 times already!!!! The waiter is nice and so is atmosphere!

So Far I've had the Florida Smacker Pizza and the Bigg'n Calzone!! Both are Great, but I love me a great calzone and Brewer's is one of the best!! The ladies are very helpful when it comes to your order and the only thing I wish is that I was more of a Beer drinker, because the have a lot of choice for the all you Beer & Lager lovers!

I love the beer and food here. Though the service has been slow lately, it doesn't outweigh the consistently tasty draft beers, pizza, sauces, and garlic bread. Try the garlic bread with their ranch sauce. It's slightly life-changing.

Best Pizza in Jax!!! I frequent this brewery quite often as it is right around the corner. Im a very big dark beer drinker and the "Tribal Rite" is damn good! I have never had any issue here and I often over tip due to the excellent service:)

Food is amazing service is not. I'll start with the positive. My husband had The Florida smacker it was savory and delicious. Fluffy toasted French bread like deep dish. The Florida smacker was hands down awesome. I ordered a small Hawaiian pizza with jelepenos. It was just just as delicious. I wish the jelepenos were baked in there though. The crust wasn't as thick as the Florida smacker which my dad prefered. I had a small salad and its kinda big I shared it with my mom. We had it with ranch and the ranch was very good restraunt style. The service was bad. The girl didn't take our dirty plates and our table was over crowded cause of it. She didn't ask us if we wanted refills we had to ask. She couldn't recommend anything on the menu. Ummm we have wings and calzones. She was nice just not prompt.

Yet another joint located just minutes from my house and only now I'm getting around to trying, Brewer's Pizza came highly recommended from several Yeeps (looks at Allie A. and Mr. Yelp) who know I love nothing more than a slice of cheesy deliciousness. This is a no-frills establishment serving up prime eats and TONSSSSS of beer...so many beers on tap that they scroll down a TV screen describing each brand, flavor profile, etc. for your convenience. Simply put...this is a beer-and-pizza lovers paradise! Eats: Man it was hard to choose. There's so many. I knew I wanted to go with the signature 8-inch deep dish Florida Smacker crust...but as for the toppings, I was literally salivating over the thought of a Reuben Pizza, a Baked Potato Pizza...even a Gyro Pizza! In the end, I actually went with the one that Mr. Yelp recommended, which was the BLT Pizza (mozzarella cheese and bacon, topped after baking with lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo). After several minutes of anticipation, my plate made its way from the kitchen and was set before me. The Florida Smacker is cut into 4 good-sized squares, and yes indeed, this is a deep-dish crust. As I was sinking my teeth into and savoring bite after bite...my mind was made up. In my opinion, this place IS worth all the hype and praise, and the pizza here simply speaks for itself. They don't skimp on the toppings, and the crust.....the crust alone is worth the trip across town if you don't live in the Orange Park area. In Closing: If this place opened up a location in Riverside or San Marco, they'd KILL...especially with the huge brew selection. Normally I'm a NY style thin-crust pizza fan, but I have to hand it to Brewer's...they've got a good thing going here. I've also heard great things about their giant calzones and fresh sandwiches (made with Boars Head meats), so I'll definitely have to give those a try in the near future! Service was just as Allie A. said...not overly chatty, but knowledgeable about the menu items and prompt on drink refills and checking up. Thank you Brewer's Pizza for an awesome meal, and if you haven't been here yet, definitely give this place a try! Two thumbs up and support your local eats!

Needed: an equivalent word for bootylicious, but intended to describe pizza. Yes, I'm in need of an adjective for the BLT pizza from Brewer's Pizza. Brewers isn't a pizza joint that serves good beer, it's a brewery that happens to serve pizza; decent pizza at that. Literally, the pizza dough has beer in it. Vegetate on that. On top of that, try their pretzel appetizer, the "Guido's Soft Pretzel." There flavor is ... let's just say they make you want to commit a hate crime on them. Seriously though, I just pinned it to my "Wants" board on Pininterst. Its interesting though how pretzel bread is really in right now. Sorry kale, America is back! I've yet to have a beer from here I didn't whole heartedly enjoy. I've yet to order an item on the menu I was disappointed. In fact, the three, four times I've had the pleasure to eat here; I've yet to come away with any issues. Brewers is a solid choice. Allow me to leave you with this, I foresee the Lady and I increasingly eating here and after a while our home will turn into pizza box museum.

Feel like I should separate ratings into these separate categories to be fair: food, service and atmosphere. First up: FOOD - 3 stars. We ordered The Florida Smacker 8" deep dish square pizza ($8.99) in the specialty Meat Lover's option (additional $2.99). Like the menu and others have described, it's somehow fluffy and crispy, yet not too dense - all at the same time. The sauce, cheese and meats were tasty (though it seemed there was an abundance of ground beef/sausage). Think the 1980's Pizza Hut personal pan pizza, not as greasy, a bit larger/taller, not as heavy, yet still very filling. VERY filling. We also ordered the wings ($8.99) in mild with ranch dipping sauce. The menu says they are lightly breaded, but honestly we couldn't tell, and it didn't matter because they were the perfect blend of tang and a tad bit of heat. They were also HUGE compared to most wings you get in restaurants these days. I think I could've made these myself at home, still, they tasted better than they looked. They serve Coke products but don't carry a Dr. Pepper clone (i.e. no Mr. Pibb). Also, no grenadine if you like a little cherry in your soda. For those interested in craft beer (we don't imbibe), their list (which scrolls on a giant flat screen in the middle of the main dining room) looks large, varied and runs the gamut from $3.50-$8.50. Next up: SERVICE - 2 stars. We were greeted shortly after entering by a female server who said simply, "Sit wherever you like." My BF went to the restroom and a server came to take our drink order. I ordered and wasn't sure what my BF wanted so told the server I'd wait to see what he wants. My BF came back to the table shortly after my soda arrived. It took FOR-EV-ER for someone to come back to take his drink order as well as our food order. When they did come, it was a different girl than before. I'd like to mention that everyone seems to be walking around in a haze with no real sense of purpose, urgency or hospitality. I don't think I ever saw any server or food runner smile. No one was rude, they were just extremely reserved and nearly robotic. Kind of like if emo Vulcans ran a pizza joint. We weren't asked if this was our first visit (it was); and no one made menu suggestions (unless you count when the 2nd girl answered after my BF asked which was better: the green tea or the raspberry tea). Maybe when your menu is mainly beer, pizza/calzones, a salad, some wings and bread, you don't think it needs promoting/guidance? Anyway, I think we were checked on once before the check was brought, when they offered drink refills. Other than that, we were pretty much left alone waiting - either for a server to visit, or for our food. (Actually, the food didn't take all that long, but the pizza came out before the wings - which seemed odd.) Last but not least: ATMOSPHERE - 1 star. From the outside, I expected the place to be dark like a night club, maybe with some cool neon lighting or something. Inside, it's lit with fluorescent lighting a la your high school cafeteria, a few booths with cushioned benches, basic no frills tables/chairs, and high ceilings. It isn't cozy, inviting, relaxing or fun. It has a kind of clinical feel to it. This, coupled with the lack of warmth from staff, makes for a weird vibe. Overall, I can't say anything would bring me back here, though I'd take a pizza or wings to go sometime if I were in the area.

Went there for my sons birthday in September. We had the square deep dish meat lover pizza, Hawaiian pizza and calzone, AWESOME!!!! The pizza crust is thick, fluffy and tasty and loaded with toppings. The calzone was loaded and the cheese was great. There are dozens of beers brewed on site and we tried a couple of them. Very good and well worth the cost. We have been back there at least four more times since then and each time is always as great as that first time. I don't get pizza anywhere else when we're down at this end of Orange Park.

Service was the worst! We had to remind our server that we ordered drinks. Good local beer selection, but the rest of the menu is seriously lacking. Smacker pizza was good, but don't expect to find much else on the menu.

I went here on the recommendation of beer aficianados and I have to give their own beer five stars. The selection they have on tap is very interesting too. Samplers are available and take advantage of this. I like the way they put little labels on the paddle so you have a prompt as to what you selected! The food is really three stars at best, try the Florida Smacker pizza as it was much better than their regular pizza.

Beer Five Stars Cracker Pizza Three Stars I'm not a huge pizza eater any more, this pizza was different and cooked to perfection. It's thick, cheese overflowing the sides and crispy. Wash it down with a Pinglehead beer! you won't be sorry for long!

Second time here and both times we have been very impressed. The food is really good. We've tried both crust styles of pizza and loved each... antipasto salad was really nice.... basic but fresh and a great way to start. haven't tried the soup but it looks and smells good, I'll try it on our next visit. Great music on the free jukebox.... hubby likes the beer selection. Service has been AWESOME each time and wait time on the food is perfectly appropriate for the food. Altogether this gets my highest vote for pizza in the Jacksonville / Orange Park area.

I've heard and read about Brewer's Pizza on Trip Advisor, Urbanspoon, and Yelp for a while. I decided to dine there this evening for dinner. There located in a strip mall off Blanding Blvd. that is always a heavy traffic area. Getting into the strip mall where they're located at is problematic depending on which direction you're coming from. I already did my menu reconnaissance on their website. Their menu is primarily pizzas and sandwiches with a Gastro pub theme because the place also serves a variety of microbrew beers. This review is for their food and the not beer since I don't drink with any frequency. In reviewing their menu prior to my trip, I decided to try out their regular pizza and a sandwich. I opted for a small 10" Almost Everything pizza which is essentially a supreme type pizza. I also ordered The Good Fella 8" sub. It's their version of an Italian sub. The order took approximately 15 to 20 minutes to arrive. The sub was supposed to cold, but mine arrived hot. It's not a complaint, but normally I prefer my Italian sub sandwiches cold unless it's during the winter season. The sub was not bad. It was not spectacular, but average/good in terms of being a bar food staple. According to the menu, Brewer's Pizza uses Boar's Head deli meat. The deli meat (i.e. salami, ham, and pepperoni) was good. The 10" small pizza looked OK. I'm not going to say it looked bad by any means, but it almost looked as if it was a premium frozen pizza. My pizza arrived warm with a fairly good amount of toppings, but they appeared a tad dried out so to speak. The pizza crust is reminiscent of a Chicago style pizza, but not the deep dish kind. The crust was a bit doughy and the taste was average. I dare say my dough felt a smidgen undercooked as if it needed to be cooked for at least another five minutes or so. Overall, the pizza was average. I asked my server if they make the dough on the premise daily and she replied they do. They cook the pizza to order. Furthermore, she explained their pizza is not Chicago or New York based, but Detroit based since the owners are originally from Michigan. That would explain the style/theme of the pizza and sandwiches given what I know of Gastro pub themed foods. The decor within the place has a definite neighborhood bar theme and vibe. When I came for dinner, I could tell that regular patrons were already on the bar chatting away with one of the servers. I came in with a rambunctious family crowd that met there for dinner. I seated myself and waited a couple of minutes for a server to come by where I placed my order. I sat in the main dining area that is the right of the entrance and where the main bar is. The atmosphere is a bit loud given the patrons chatting away as well as the loud music playing from a jukebox from time to time. The place has a couple of flat screen TVs that displays the many beers on tap. I was not necessarily disappointed with my first trip, but then again I was not too impressed with it either. I'll say the food is average, but I suspect people don't necessarily come specifically for the food, but the selection of beer where the food available and served compliments the finer beer in which the food does not have to be four star quality per say, but hearty and filling. If inclined, I may venture another trip somewhere down the line. As for its location, if you're driving from Jacksonville into Orange Park from Blanding Blvd., then stay on the right most lane and turn in the strip mall where it's located. If you driving from Blanding Blvd. already in Orange Park, turn left onto Wells Rd. and enter the strip mall from back area.

The place is a bit small; but the place was not crowed and we were quickly helped. we ordered the mamaws cheese bread as an appetizer, and it was huge and delicious. We opted for the small I could not imagine the large. The crust was crispy and chewy hot and a generous amount of cheese and hot red sauce. for the main dish we ordered a large pizza, it was very good and cooked perfect. I got everything on my side and my daughter had pepperoni on her half. We ended up with a whole bunch to take home. The beer choices were extensive and mostly micro brews from around the area. I got a 22 oz bomber to go and drank it at home, as I do not drink and drive. I would love to come back (with a DD) and try more of the beers. over all the place is cool and the beer I chose was good and the waiter was quite knowledgeable as I explained what type beer I prefer, he steered my to a great doople bach micro they made there. I am a Big fan and will be back. The music is a little strange I have to admit, a lot hipsterish. Johnny cash, then some old blues eclectic mix for sure. Great pizza, good beer, nice find!!

Was having dinner with friends last night and looking for somewhere close to their house and decided to try Brewer's. Boy are we glad we did. First, not really a craft beer person, but our great server, Shay, recommended a beer that matched our individual tastes. The skins were ok, but the pizza was outstanding. The service was very, very good, and the people are super friendly and there is a free juke box that has outstanding music. This is a small business that deserves to grow, give them a try!!

Delicious pizza and local brew. We were visiting town and went here based on Yelp reviews. We ordered the veggie Florida Smacker, a deep dish pizza. It had a crunchy, chewy crust and fresh ingredients with lots of cheese. They have a broad selection of beers and their brand rocked! Located in a strip mall, it's extremely casual and comfortable, the wait staff was friendly. We highly recommend this place!

Not at all impressed. I may not be a big pizza person, but I definitely know good pizza when I taste it and this definitely wasn't it. The venue itself isn't anything to be wow'd over, but I personally feel like any reputable pizza joint shouldn't look the least bit of classy (lol). As long as it's clean, the customer service is warm and prompt, and the pizza blows your mind then the restaurant itself can be a literal hole in the wall for all I care. With Brewer's, it was 2 out of 3 and sorry folks but all 3 are a must with me if nothing else. The welcome was definitely warm, as was my waitress, so no complaints for the customer service. The dining area isn't so large that I could get lost but not so small that customers were sitting on top of each other, so kudos in that regard. I ordered about $30 worth of food (don't judge me, I hadn't eaten all day!): 10 hot wings, 6 potato skins fully loaded (chives, cheese, jalepenos, bacon bits, banana peppers) and a Super Duper Smacker (a Florida Smacker 8 inch deep dish pizza with mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, ham, mushroom, onion, green pepper...I asked for no ham). Everything came out in about 20 minutes, piping hot and smelling absolutely amazing. My mouth starts to water and as I say Grace my stomach growls in protest (i.e. FEED ME Seymore!) and I bite into one of the succulent looking potato skins.......wth. Yes it was hot, yes it was chock full of toppings...but I think they forgot to season mine. It literally tasted like a raw potato with alot of toppings thrown on top and for whatever reason the variety of flavors that should have seeped into the potato while in the oven just stayed in the toppings themselves; it didn't even blend nicely when I began to chew...these flavors were determined to stay separate, raw potato being the most prominent. Shocked, I figured maybe I shoud dip it into some sour cream to bring the flavors out...strike 1. Ketchup? Nope, strike 2. Ok, let's try Ranch....the only sauce I will eat with just about anything....strike 3 and I was done with the potato skins. I put them in my To-Go Box and moved on to the hot wings, hoping I had better luck. Again, the most basic of seasonings were forgotten and I bit into a hot and crispy painfully plain wing that was tossed in hot sauce. Only because I was hungry I ate 2 of them, hoping that maybe it was one of those acquired taste type of things...nope. With a sad sigh, I put them beside the potato skins in the To Go box. With my fingers crossed, I bit into the still sizzling thick and delicous looking pizza.........take the description given for the potato skins and just apply them to the pizza. I am a lover of food and a huge fan of anything fully loaded but we can't forget the basics people! The dough itself had no flavor at all (except dough-y) which sucked for me because I am one of those people who save all the pizza crusts for last so that I can dip them in marinara sauce, sit back and enjoy both the crunch and the flavor. I paid, left and gave my heavy To-Go box to an older homeless woman who would appreciate it more than I did; at least my $30 went to good use. Now, with all that being said, I really wanted to like this place my fellow Yelpers; I even considered going back after re-reading all of the high reviews, thinking "maybe I didn't choose the right things" but I think about it like this: if they were able to disappoint me on such a simple arrangement of food (wings, loaded skins and what is essentially a supreme pizza), then why would I risk getting equally let down on one of their "specialties"? Sorry Brewer's, but I won't be darkening your doorstep again to test that theory.

My whole family gives this place 5+ stars! We had a terrific, fun, delicious, good eating experience about 3 hours ago at Brewer's. My husband told me go YELP a big 5 stars! He loved it! He enjoys beers (not the typical Bud types, but special dark ales, usually imported). He enjoyed the "Tail hook" very much, and enjoyed trying a few others at the bar. Thanks for making our Grinch into a happy ole' elf! We ordered the "Cracker" pizza with pepperoni and country sausage, it was so good, we ate every crumb. My husband, being extra hungry, and enjoying a second beer, ordered a calzone --- it was huge! But he ate it all (except the pieces that my kids tried) My husband was not only a happy ole' elf by the time we left, but also a plump one on the way out! The wings and salads looked good at a table next to ours --- gotta' go back, and soon. The wait staff was super nice and really knew the menu, and even the very big beer menu. We could not have been taken care of better. They have a table top shuffle board game along one wall, a window looking into the brewery and no TV in the bigger dining room; but a TV over the bar and there are a few tables in that room too.

Super excited that I am now able to buy Le Rouge in a growler! I personally think Brewer's microbrews are the best local beer!

Great Pizza, Great Beer! If you enjoy both this is the place to go. It's a little hole in the wall but a perfect hangout to grub and go. I have been some nights and they are so packed you have to wait for seating. That should be sign enough this is a happening spot for some Yum Yum Pizza!

As a beer lover this place has quickly become one of my favorites since moving to Jacksonville. The beer menu consist of several awesome brews made in house and an ever changing list of micro brews from around the country. A beer sampler is available allowing you to try four beers for the price of one. The food is equally as great as the beer and includes wings, giant calzones, pizza, salads, and Brewer's own take on pizza "The Florida Smacker". The Smacker is a square pizza somewhere between deep dish, pan, and french bread style. The barbeque chicken is my favorite with barbeque sauce, chicken, bacon, red onion, and the great cheese found on all Brewer's pizzas. They have recently added some delicious soups and stews to the menu served in a homemade bread bowl. Two big screen TVs with seating at the bar, tables, or booths. FYI the jukebox is always free so you can enjoy your favorite tunes while there.

One of the best pizzas I've tried since my NYC trip last Christmas! It's not made NY style, but still tastes so good! Incredible service and great prices. One of our friends hates beers, but loved the apple beer. She said it reminded her of a crisp white wine. :)

I would normally give this place a five star because I appreciate that it is a small business and they support local breweries. I think that aspect of the business is amazing. What I don't appreciate is being treated like I'm a burden when visiting an establishment. The pizza we ordered was delicious, as always.. But when asking to sample a couple beers, the server told us we would have to come sit at the bar to do so, which didn't make sense because the prior server was happy to help. Sitting at the bar wouldn't be an issue with me, but we had a toddler with us -- so I found it to be a little peculiar that the server would ask that of us. Nonetheless, I think the servers should be consistent. Secondly, when I decided I wanted a beer.. The server never came back to check on us until after our pizza came out. By that time, I was over it. I'll have to say -- in the past, we have always had an amazing experience at Brewer's. Good food. Great servers. I don't know what happened this time around, but they truly dropped the ball and left us feeling frustrated.

Awesome hole in the wall pizza joint. They have a lot of good hand crafted beers also.

Pretty good. They had feta cheese for a topping so I really like that. The food was good but not truly great. Average taste and nothing to turn you away. Staff was friendly and the place was clean. I wish I tries the calzone, but o well you only get one...

Beer- easily 6 stars Pizza- good, but there is better in jax. Service- excellent. I love IPAs and had all of them on their menu except for the landslide, which they said they were out. That was a little disappointing, but i understand it happens every once in a while. The dark IPAs were perfect, enough hops to give it that signature flavor, while still mellow. Their smooth operator lived up to its name, so you got the nice bitterness without the pucker in the lips. For the pizza, the cheese was tasty and the crust was nice, thick, and cooked well; however the toppings could have been better. The menu variety was also lacking as well. If you want the absolute best pizza in jacksonville, go to carmines. If you live in orange park or fleming island, come here. The pizza is a close second and the drive is a long one. They do have the largest selection of brewed on premises beer, and you can take a gallon of the stuff home. What more do you need?

I am giving a 5 although a 4.5 star would be more what I think. I have been going since I moved to this side of town a year and a half ago and to be clear I LOVE IT! I have been back about 20 times and each time I bring someone new to show them what's up. I want to get everyone going so it can stay open forever so I can continue to enjoy it. FOOD: Very tasty. Fresh ingredients. Much much better than chain pizza, but not overly fancy. The fact the food is this good and they make their own beer is about the best combo you can get in NE FL in my opinion by far. I have also had the potato skins and the delicious soup they serve in a bread bowl. Both done very well. Cooked perfectly and seasoned nicely too. BEER: Excellent quality beer. I love the large selection they have of their own brew and that they create new ones from time to time. Also I like they don't waste too much of our time or storage space by bothering to have all the millers, buds, etc because you can go anywhere for that. In addition to their own very nice selection ranging from lagers to pale ales to stouts, they also carry a dozen other beers from other breweries nearby and another dozen or two from a few spots around the country. SERVICE: I think service is fine. Sure there are a few employees that may not be perfect, but overall I think they get the job done and most are very nice and take care of everything you need. Out of the 7 or so people I have had wait on me they have always offered to bring out a child's seat for my baby before I ask, are very helpful and patient answering all my questions about the beers and what their preferences are too. They have even gone back to the kitchen to find out what seasoning they used in the soup I got when I asked. They always seem happy to help me out with anything I need.

I liked it. It wasn't my favorite place to go, but the service was very helpful and informative. I got a sub and it was quite filing. I was happy with what I had, but not my absolute favorite place. I think the lights were to low and could be updated a bit. However, I would go back.

When this place opened, it was the place for good pizza, good beer, and a friendly staff. Now, not so much. My advice would be to pick up a growler to go but avoid eating there as they will likely disappoint you with their sub-par food and surly attitudes. Sorry guys, this former regular won't be back.

Great pizza. The buffalo chicken pizza was so good. Great beer selection too.

The pizza is competent. Nothing to write home about. Their southern style pizza is basically a version of pan pizza from a chain that we all know. It's unfortunate that the chain does this style better. Excellent beer list and if you want a craft beer, you will do well to have a few here. Unpretentious in demeanor this place has potential. Rev up the pizza a bit and it could be a hit.

Hands down, the BEST PIZZA IN JAX (& Orange Park). Florida Smacker is unrivaled in it's deliciousness. Thick crispy outside crust, soft, toothsome inside. The sauce is great, lots of garlic and the cheese is top quality. I added pineapple to mine and was in heaven. Their craft beer is good too. It ranged from descent to great.

This restaurant specializes in beer and pizza. Handmade pizza and handcrafted beers are pretty much all they offer (in addition to salads, wings, and calzones.) I can really appreciate this place's approach. Pick a few things and do those things REALLY well. There's no pasta on the menu. No chicken strips or mozzarella sticks. Just a few things and fabulous BEER. They offer a variety of specialty beers on tap and there's something for everyone's palate. And if you like it enough to enjoy a pint or two at Brewer's you can get a "growler" (gallon jug) to go. Yes you read that correctly. Gallons of premium craft beer to go. Give it a try. If you love beer or pizza, you'll love this place.

I have been back twice now and received very friendly service. Drinks never ran dry, as every waiter that passed our table made sure we were full. We had a mix up on an order, but it was a miscommunication and did not affect our overall dining experience. It's great to finally see that the service is up to speed with the quality of food!

The food probably gets 3 stars, but the service dropped it to two. My husband and I were in the area and wanted to try something different. It started out well enough. We were told to seat ourselves, we were brought menus and we had our drinks about two minutes after sitting down. The guy asked if we were ready to order and since this was our first visit, we needed a bit more time. My husband and I decided what we wanted and then waited . . . and waited . . . and waited. We had our menus closed and the waiter looked over at us several times. But he was too busy flirting with other patrons and socializing than in taking our order. It got so bad that we were ready to get up and leave. It was probably ten minutes or so before he came to take our orders. When he did, he tried to be cool and not write anything down. Then he proceeded to ask me to repeat myself two more times. My thing is that if you are going to try to take my order without a notepad, then you better have a freaking good memory. I ordered the small house salad to start and I enjoyed it. The lettuce and other vegetables were very fresh. I ordered the Florida Smacker with bacon, green pepper and pepperoni. My husband ordered the Florida Smacker with italian sausage. The pizza was just okay. Maybe if I were already in the area and really hungry, I would eat there. No way would I make a special trip for it. The italian sausage was better than the bacon, which is weird for me because I love bacon. It had a nice flavor and was a bit spicy, but not too hot. The food was okay, but the service sucked. Also, after we placed our order we really didn't see our waiter again. Someone else brought our food, he did NOT check on us to see if we were okay, someone else asked if we needed a box, and someone else brought us our check. That was reflected in his tip.

I had the Florida Smacker pizza with mushrooms and green peppers. It was perfect! Love the thick crust and the generous amount of cheese. I'll order it again! It's fun to try the different beers. Service was excellent. We'll be back!

Gave this place a 2nd chance today to change my mind on how shitty it is... verdict. FAIL.. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!!! DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE HUMAN. The First time i walked in this place was with a couple of buddies and i had heard about the vasts amounts of beer they have available...FAIL. The guy handed us a drink menu and says "uh.. some of the stuff is out of date and we don't have it." So i think to myself..cool it happens. Yet the first and second choice beers that I picked they didn't have.. so i settle for my third choice and it tastes like Busch light (garbage). Not only was the beer shitty the pizza was take home bake at best. I would have been better off eating dijorno's at home. At least that way i wouldn't have had to deal with the crappy service. My Second visit was tonight 8/10/2011. Same crappy service, new group of friends. Verdict... FAIL!! Holy crap I swear they hire servers straight off the street and say "hey put this apron on and take orders". --No customer service skills, no 'thank yous', no smile, NOTHING!! We had to wait 15 minutes for anything. We waited 15 minutes to get our check, i had to walk to the counter to give our server the check, the food took a ridiculous amount of time to come out, the list goes on and on... If you value you're money stay away from this establishment because I gave it the benefit of the doubt and gave it a second chance and once again they failed me in customer service, beer, and food. Absolute worst experience ever. STAY AWAY FROM BREWERS PIZZA!!!

My first time visiting Jacksonville from out of town. It's 10:45 and I'm pretty hungry. I find this place and see they close at 11 the day I was looking. But I was hungry enough to chance it. They told me the kitchen was closing but no problem I ordered a pizza for carryout and dropped in. They were closing when I got there so it was just me and the employees. I started making small talk about some local beers they were trying out with Stephen and next thing I know I'm getting a tour of the brewery in the back and learning about the whole process. I tried a bunch of their samples and overall just really enjoyed the hospitality and being shown around a real micro brewery. By the way when I got home I had the pizza (perfectly well done like I asked) and it was so good. Perfectly seasoned and crispy and chewy. Check this place out.

Alright pizza not bad. Service kind of slow. Beers are good, ask for the flight. The wings are good. Juke box and tv's.good place to watch a game and drink beer.

Had really high hopes about this place. Always love a good pizza joint. Unfortunately they didn't deliver on my high expectations this time. We ordered a large pizza, 1/2 tomato, 1/2 pepperoni and a large Greek salad. The salad was decent with a large amount of feta which we love. The pizza was just average. I really was expecting it to be a large pizza but it was more like a medium and we were left wishing for more. The juke box was fun for the kids and our server was attentive. It's dark inside and looks more like a bar than anything and the chairs have some tears in them. Bathrooms were fairly clean. We will probably give this place another shot as my husband likes to try different breweries. Hopefully the pizza will be better next time. It was lacking on flavor and size.

They say eat local so why not drink local? ;)

I'll re-update my update to reflect that visit at that time. ;)

Tried it twice, had the cheeseburger pizza... Not that amazing honestly. I'm sure they sell beer better than their food

Really good pizza! I got the super duper. I also had the spicy garlic hummus. They were very accommodating. Very large beer selection. Waitress was very friendly. I would go back!

Service was the worst! We had to remind our server that we ordered drinks. Good local beer selection, but the rest of the menu is seriously lacking. Smacker pizza was good, but don't expect to find much else on the menu.

My favorite local pizza place. I love the Large Bacon pizza and my boyfriend likes the Florida smacker and cal-zone. They are always full of fresh toppings. They also only carry craft beers which is great to try new things.

I love the beer and food here. Though the service has been slow lately, it doesn't outweigh the consistently tasty draft beers, pizza, sauces, and garlic bread. Try the garlic bread with their ranch sauce. It's slightly life-changing.

Me and my son go here just for the seafood bisque in the bread bowl. So freaking good. We split a large Greek salad and then each have the bisque. It is a brewery, so it does smell like it....but that does not detract from the great food. The little pizza are also great.

Great pizza. I had the Hawaiian with peppers. Generous portions. Very tasty. A lot of choices for beers. Had a local IPA and it was delicious. Friendly staff, good food, music, beer in no specific order. Found my new pizza place.

Beer Five Stars Cracker Pizza Three Stars I'm not a huge pizza eater any more, this pizza was different and cooked to perfection. It's thick, cheese overflowing the sides and crispy. Wash it down with a Pinglehead beer! you won't be sorry for long!
